Protecting New Furniture and Flooring

If your furniture or flooring has become faded or worn, then it is time to go shopping.  These are big purchases which usually require some time, effort, and multiple store visits.  If you know what you have in mind, it may make the task a little easier because you will know it when you see it.  If you get the newspaper, look through the Sunday ads as there are always furniture ads showing current sales.  It is good to remember that while furniture stores will always have something on sale, they often run specials that cover the whole store.

Furniture stores tend to run sales on holiday weekends, particularly Labor Day, Memorial Day, and New Year’s Day.  At the end of the year, many stores are looking to clear out inventory to make room for new styles.  This can be a good time to get a good deal.  These sales often include zero percent interest with no payments for a year, if you are looking to finance.  Be careful though because sometimes the zero interest is only for a year also.  If you don’t have to finance, then don’t.  You are paying more for the furniture than you need to because you will be paying interest on top of the sales price.

When searching for new carpet or flooring, you can often take home samples.  This is a great idea so that you can see what it will look like with your paint color and furniture.  It is also a good idea to look at it at different times of the day when the lighting is different to make sure you truly like how it looks.

When making such a big purchase, it is important that you know how to properly take care of it to get the most life out of it.  With furniture and carpet, you can often get them coated with a stain protectant which makes it much easier to remove any potential stains.  If the furniture is leather, you can get a leather cleaner to keep it looking its best.  With tile, you will want to make sure you have the grout sealed to help it maintain its color.

One of the ways you can protect all of these big-ticket items is by having your home’s windows tinted.  You may not have thought of this before, but the damage caused by the sun can fade your furniture and flooring leaving it looking less than beautiful.  Solar Solutions, owned by Brian Schauder, is located in Vero Beach and serves all the surrounding areas, such as Sebastian, Fort Pierce, Melbourne Beach, and Viera.  With different tints to choose from, including clear tint, we are sure that Solar Solutions can meet all your window tinting needs.  Most homes can be completed in one day leaving you with no mess and furniture and flooring that won’t get faded!
